As you embark on this downtown festival, Polka music can be heard inside the big tent, the heavenly smell of roasted nuts and tasty fare wafts through the air and the bustle of shoppers browsing all the fantastic market vendors sets the scene for this Oconomowoc tradition.
The stage is set earlier in November as German Christmas Market organizers raise the giant tent in downtown's Village Green Park. The quaint, wooden vendor huts begin to dot the landscape. They will soon be filled with colorful gifts and goodies to be had during the market's 13th year. Festivities take place Nov. 27 and Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
The Market is for Everyone
Oconomowoc's German Christmas Market is about bringing the family downtown, meeting friends and making new ones. Running from late morning to late at night, there is a time for all ages to enjoy this special setting.
Here you'll find amazing authentic German food, incredible gifts from hand-picked merchants from all over Wisconsin and of course, Santa and his reindeer. Visit the market website for full details on the event schedule.
Getting Here is Easy
There is ample parking in downtown Oconomowoc, however the German Christmas Market also offers a free shuttle service Friday and Saturday from a nearby school parking lot to make parking and getting here among the bustling crowds that much easier.

The Finest Polka Acts
Little ones love to jump and twirl in the big tent to polka bands throughout the day. Or grab your partner and polka away to fantastic bands throughout the evening. A newer feature is an additional night of music on Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving. Local favorite, Big Al and the Hi Fi's will play as the large party tent opens that evening for drinks and dancing. Check out the entertainment lineup.

Santa is a Must-See
Plan ahead to make sure you get time with the big man in red. This is a very popular attraction at the market. The Santa tent has specific hours and is a great family activity. The tent is equipped with Christmas cookie decorating while you wait. If you plan your visit on Saturday, you can see his reindeer!
